Scunthorpe United is delighted to announce the signing of forward Chris Wreh from National League side Tamworth on an initial one-month loan deal.
Son of former Arsenal forward Christopher Wreh, the American-born frontman was part of the Tamworth team that was promoted from the National League North in the 2023-24 season, when he attained 11 goal contributions in just 18 games after joining the Lambs in the January 2024.
After starting his career in the youth ranks of Northampton Town, Wreh dived into the depth of non-league where he enjoyed a number of prolific campaigns with the likes of Stony Stratford Town, Dunstable Town and AFC Rushden and Diamonds. The versatile frontman would attract interest from higher league clubs in the summer of 2022 after he scored 23 goals to go with his 16 assists during Banbury United’s Southern Premier Central promotion season.
Following his success with the Puritans he would go on to link up with National League side Southend United and after just a single season with the Shrimpers he would join Hartlepool United on a short-term deal.
So far this campaign, Wreh has seen his game time reduced at Tamworth and because of this the forward has joined the Iron with hopes of establishing much-needed momentum as the National League North season draws to a close.
Wreh has taken the number 15 jersey and goes straight into contention for Saturday's away league encounter against Oxford City.
