Scunthorpe United can confirm that midfielder James Bailey has been recalled from his loan spell by parent club Stockport County.
Bailey arrived at the Iron just over a month ago, hoping to gain his first taste of senior first-team football after spending the majority of his career in the youth ranks at Manchester United before joining Stockport over the summer.
The highly-rated prospect made his first appearance for the Iron during the 1-0 defeat to Hornchurch at the Hornchurch Stadium, coming on as a late substitute. His next outing came on home soil, as he was introduced in the second half of United's convincing 4-1 victory over Hartlepool United at the Attis Arena.
After being named as the 19th man for the defeat to AFC Fylde, Bailey's final appearance in Claret and Blue came during the National League Cup encounter against Derby County U21s. The central midfielder played the full 90 minutes under the lights at the Attis Arena before converting his penalty in the shootout, helping the Iron secure a bonus point in what proved to be his final contribution for the club.
We thank Bails for his efforts in Claret and Blue and wish him all the best for the future.
