Levi Sutton was pleased to get 90 minutes of game time during United’s pre-season friendly against SV Seekirchen in Austria.

The match ended 0-0 against tougher opposition than the team have faced on their pre-season training camp in recent years, but the former Iron academy player explained how it’s good to be tested at this stage.

He told iFollow Iron: “They were very good opposition really. They came to try and do a job, and sat in because they knew it was going to be a hard game. They worked really hard in the heat, and made it competitive. We knew it was going to be a battle.”

Sutton and striker Kyle Wootton both played the full game, and the 21-year-old added: “I didn’t expect 90 minutes today but the more minutes you get the better, as it brushes the cobwebs off for the season.”

Speaking about the week in Austria so far in general, he added: “It’s been tough. The aim is to get fit ready for the season, and I personally feel really good.

“It’s gone really quickly but we’re excited for the next game, and know it’ll be a tough one.”
