New Iron arrival Myles Hippolyte has spoken about his move to the Sands Venue Stadium, and what he can offer the club after signing from Yeovil Town on a two-year deal.

The 25-year-old becomes our latest summer signing and feels he has a lot to offer the Iron.

"I'd say I'm an exciting player, and bring a lot of energy to the team. I have moments where I can change games, and make it interesting for the fans," he told iFollow Iron.

"I'd like to think I'm a good team player as well, and bring a lot of attacking attributes. I've improved a lot on the defensive side as well.

"I can play left or right-side, and have played quite a few different positions. I am left-footed but able to play on the right."

The former Brentford scholar, who spent five seasons in Scotland, said: "It's been a long journey to get back to English football and to be playing in the EFL again. I look forward to it, it's going to be a challenge for me but I believe in myself and that I've got the ability. Hopefully I can do what the manager asks, get the fans on board and really do well this season."

Last season saw him return to English football after a five-year stay north of the border in Scotland.

Winning the Scottish Challenge Cup in 2015 with Livingstone, he then enjoyed cult-hero status at Falkirk during a two-year stint with the Bairns before helping St Mirren win promotion to the SPL in 2017-18.

He commented: "I enjoyed every moment in Scotland and it was a case of me finding myself. I won a cup and league there, getting promotion to the Scottish Premiership. That experience taught me a lot about myself."

Talking about his move to the Iron, he continued: "I'm sad to leave Yeovil behind but at the end of the day I want to keep moving forward in my career, and feel Scunthorpe is a great chance to move forward for me. The gaffer has given me certain instructions about how he wants to play, and I buy into it, and will hopefully do what I can to help the boys do well.

"It was quite surprising to see he tracked me while I was in Scotland even but fortunately I have the opportunity to work with him now, and I'm looking forward to it."
