Earlier in the season in our matchday programme we asked you to send in your questions over social media, for our number 45 - John McAtee – and here are his answers below…

@danielchristopherjones, via Instagram: What do you have to eat before the game?
JM: Something like chicken and rice, or sometimes pasta. Pretty straightforward really.

@chazachuckles18, via Instagram: Are you happy with the chant the fans have made for you (Agadoo)?
JM: Yes of course! I heard my name being chanted on Saturday (against Bradford), but I couldn’t make out what the fans were saying, but yes, it’s great that I they’ve made up a song for me.

Chloe Brett, via Facebook: Do you like any other sports?
JM: Not really to be honest. My Dad was a rugby player so initially I only started playing football to get better at rugby, but I was rubbish at it!

@brandon_carson_, via Instagram: Where did you grow up?
JM: Salford. I’ve lived there pretty much all my life.

@jacobgfernandez, via Instagram: How do you mentally prepare for a match?
JM: I try not to overthink before I get on the pitch. I take my mind off the game until about 10-15 minutes before it starts, and that’s when I start to get geared up.

Jason Woods, via Facebook: What’s the best goal you’ve scored in your life?
JM: I’d probably have to say the one against Bradford for the Iron, just because of how much it meant, and the importance of the goal.

@alfie_8405, via Instagram: What’s been your favourite game for the Iron so far?
JM: I’d have to say Grimsby away! I was on the pitch when the winner was scored, it was amazing to be involved, and you could see what it meant to the fans.

@jmarris, via Instagram: FIFA or Football Manager?
JM: FIFA, I’ve never really bothered with Football Manager.

@levi.staino.03, via Instagram: How did it feel scoring against Bradford?
JM: Amazing, it was nothing more than the lads deserved, so I was buzzing to help the team. It’s my first league goal, so I’ll probably remember it for the rest of my life.

@will_wattamsufc, via Instagram: What’s your preferred position?
JM: I’d normally play in the number 10 role – which I’d say is my preferred position - but I’ve learned to play as a number 8 at times.

Lisa Clark, via Facebook: What’s your favourite film of all-time?
JM: I watched Bad Boys For Life recently and that was great. My favourite ever though is probably The Wolf of Wall Street.
