Antony Coggins will be the man in the middle when the Iron travel to face Port Vale at Vale Park on Saturday.

The Oxfordshire-based official will travel to Vale Park for his 23rd game of the campaign and his tenth in Sky Bet League Two.

He has officiated Scunthorpe just three times before - a goalless encounter away at Gillingham, which was incidentally his first ever Sky Bet League One game, the opening day of 2018-19 season when the Iron took the points in a 2-1 win over Coventry City and most recently just over a year ago as United took maximum points from Accrington Stanley on Grassroots Day 2019. Across the three games, he's shown nine yellow cards.

Meanwhile, he's taken charge of just one Port Vale match in his three seasons on the EFL. That came back in December 2017 when the side won 2-0 at home against Cambridge United. There were just two cards in the game, with both yellows and a subsequent dismissal going to the Us' Uche Ikpeazu.

Coggins ended his first season in the EFL having taken charge of 34 games in all competitions, showing 87 yellow cards and six reds. Last year, he issued 132 yellows and three reds in 37 games, while so far in this campaign, he's refereed 22 games, showing 75 yellow cards and one red.

On Saturday, he will be assisted by Paul Graham and Ravel Cheosiaua, while Richard Bartlett is the fourth official.
