Tom Nield will now referee the Iron's away league encounter at Crawley Town on Saturday, replacing the originally appointed Rob Lewis.

He last officiated an Iron fixture in December when United took all three points in the 1-0 win over Grimsby Town at Blundell Park.

That was his second involvement in a Lincolnshire dery, also overseeing the 2-1 win in the EFL Trophy during October 2017, secured through a brace of goals from Tom Hopper.

This is his third season as an EFL referee, with the 2017-18 campaign his first. He showed 65 yellow cards and two reds in 29 matches that term.

Last season saw him show 68 yellow cards and three reds in 21 matches, while this season has officiated 23 games, showing 70 yellow cards and two reds.

On Saturday, Nield will be assisted by Justin Amey and Conor Farrell, while Oliver Jackson has been appointed as the fourth official.
