Midfielder Alex Gilliead has been voted as the Ernie Storey Memorial Player of the Season for 2020-21 by Iron supporters.

The 25-year-old made a total of 47 appearances in all competitions for United during the campaign, chipping in with one goal which was the winner away at Walsall in December.

He played the most number of league minutes for Scunthorpe over the course of the season (3819) also providing three assists.

In his second year at the club, Gilliead has also scooped five other accolades, including four from supporters club groups, while Mason O’Malley has taken home two awards in his breakthrough season at the club.

Young forward Joey Dawson was handed the Young POTY, while Manny Onariase has been awarded the SUFC Trust’s PFA Community Player of the Year for his role in helping them to deliver their goals in Scunthorpe and the surrounding area.
