Craig Hicks has been appointed to take charge of the Iron's away league encounter against Exeter City on Saturday.

The Surrey-based official will travel to St James Park for his 21st game of the season and his sixth in Sky Bet League Two. This is his fifth season as an EFL referee, with the 2017-18 campaign his first.

Hicks has taken charge of five previous Iron fixtures, the last coming at Walsall back in August when we drew 1-1 through a late Alfie Beestin leveller. Three yellow cards were shown that day. Across the other four games, he's issued 10 yellow cards and one red.

Last season saw him show 95 yellow cards and two reds in 34 matches, while so far this term he's 57 yellow cards and five reds in his 20 games.

On Saturday, Nield will be assisted by Robert Dabbs and Michael Begley, while Adam Ricketts has been appointed as the fourth official.
