Striker Lee Novak can’t wait to hit the ground running for Scunthorpe United.

Joining on Transfer Deadline Day, the 28-year-old pens a two-year deal after leaving Charlton Athletic, and is looking forward to the challenge ahead at Glanford Park.

He conducted his first interview since joining the club with iFollow Iron.

ON THE MOVE…
LN: I’m buzzing to finally get it over the line. It’s been a long day. It was good to finally get it done just before the deadline.

ON WHAT THE MANAGER HAS TOLD HIM…
LN: The manager wants to do better than last year. We missed out in the play-offs last year and the aim is to go one better, so we’re going to go all out to do that and get promotion.

ON WHAT HE CAN BRING…
LN: I’m 28 and have played a lot of games, and I will try and help in any way I can. We’ve got off to a good start. I want to contribute, get a few goals and help get points on the board. If we can do that then we’ll all be happy.

ON HOW HE’S FEELING…
LN: I’ve been playing in reserve games and scored, and also scored in the cup. I’m feeling up to speed and up to match fitness. I can’t wait for the challenge ahead.

ON PAST MATCHES AGAINST SCUNTHORPE…
LN: They’re always a good team, it’s always a battle. I remember playing them here and at the Valley last year and they’re always tough opposition. I think we’re in for a good season.
