Forward Jack Dyche joined Noel Burdett in being delighted with his new deal with the Iron.

It was announced that the 19-year-old would be offered a new contract following end of season discussions between United manager Graham Alexander and each player.

Dyche signs a one-year deal with a further 12 months in the club's favour.

He took time to speak to iFollow Iron shortly after he put pen to paper.

ON HIS NEW CONTRACT...
"Obviously I'm delighted to be offered another year. It's another season to get work under my belt, to try and improve myself even more and hopefully break into the first team. I had a meeting with the manager a few weeks ago and his message was to be ready for pre-season - to come back and work as hard as I can."

REFLECTING ON HIS FIRST YEAR AS A PROFESSIONAL...
"I really enjoyed my time at Ashton. I played four games before getting an unfortunate injury which put me out for nine weeks. After a short spell at Bradford Park Avenue, I went back to Ashton and got a lot of games there, improving and also helping them out. I really enjoyed my time there and scored quite a few goals."

ON THE STEP UP FROM ACADEMY FOOTBALL...
"Mens football is very different. It's a lot more physical and quicker, and it's a completely different game from what I experienced as a youth team player. I feel like I fit in and I've enjoyed it."
