Scunthorpe United will travel to Kenilworth Road to face Luton Town away during pre-season.

The game will be played on Saturday, July 29th, 2017, and will kick-off at 3.00pm.

A week before the new League One season starts, it promises to be a tough work-out against Nathan Jones’ side.

The Hatters narrowly missed out on a League Two play-off final place, being edged out 6-5 on aggregate by Blackpool in dramatic last-gasp fashion last week.

"I wanted to vary the opposition and Luton will provide a test as a team that are a league below us. It'll be a tough game and they went close in the season just passed, getting to the same stage of the play-offs as us,” said Iron manager Graham Alexander.

“We know they will be desperate to go one better this season, so it will be a good challenge for us and it will provide the chance to finalise a few things before the proper season gets underway a week later."

It’s our second confirmed friendly of pre-season, with an away fixture at York announced earlier today.

Further friendlies/pre-season plans will be announced in due course.
