Scunthorpe United is delighted to announce the signing of attacker Ryan Colclough for an undisclosed fee from Wigan Athletic.

The 23-year-old pens a three-year deal to become our latest summer addition.

Colclough came through the youth ranks at Crewe Alexandra before making his professional debut for the side in 2012. While with the Railwaymen, the attack-minded player collected a Football League Trophy winners medal as they beat Southend United 2-0 at Wembley Stadium in April 2013.

He joined Wigan Athletic in January 2016, scoring his first goal for the side a month later before being loaned to Milton Keynes Dons in August 2016.

While with the Dons, he netted his first career hat-trick in a 4-1 away victory at Fleetwood Town. He was recalled to the DW Stadium in January 2017 and made 26 league appearance for the Latics during their promotion-winning campaign last season.

Colclough hit the headlines last year as he netted twice against Doncaster Rovers before being substituted to allow him to rush to the hospital to witness the birth of his second child. He would be pictured hours later still in his match kit holding his new-born son.

Overall, he has made 147 career appearances and scored 26 goals.
