Martin Coy will be the man in the middle for the Iron's home league clash against Luton Town on Boxing Day.

The official will travel to Glanford Park for his 22nd game of the campaign and his 9th in Sky Bet League One.

His first game of the campaign was Grimsby Town's emphatic opening day home defeat against Forest Green Rovers in which he showed two cautions. His most recent appointment came on Saturday when he took charge of Oldham Athletic's home encounter against Exeter City which the Grecians edged 3-2. He showed just two yellow cards in the game.

He's taken charge of the Iron on three previous occasions, the most recent just last month against Portsmouth where he showed six yellow cards.

Meanwhile, he's refereed Luton on just one previous occasion - their 2-0 away victory against Accrington Stanley. He showed three yellow cards in the game.

In 2017-18 - his debut campaign in the EFL - he took charge of 34 games, issuing 69 yellow cards and three reds. So far in this campaign, he has officiated in 21 encounters, showing 54 yellows and two reds.

On Wednesday, Coy will be assisted by Paul Newhouse and Paul Lister, while Garreth Rhodes has been appointed as the fourth official.
