Recent arrivals Stephen Humphrys and Olufela Olomola are thoroughly enjoying the club’s training camp in Austria and have settled well into life at their new club.

Humphrys signed on a season-long loan from Premier League side Fulham, while Olomola joined from fellow top-flight outfit Southampton.

The pair of attackers are confident the hard work put in during pre-season can reap its rewards during the upcoming League One campaign.

“It’s going well, the facilities are nice, as are the surroundings and we’ve had some good sessions so far. I’m enjoying it,” Humphrys told iFollow Iron.

“It’s vital to get to know people. You need relationships on and off the pitch and it helps the chemistry. We’re all integrating well, and it’s been easy for the newcomers like ourselves to settle in.

“It’s been chucking it down, sunny, cloudy but the pitches have been good so that helps. I’ve been on pre-season tours to Japan and America (with other clubs), and the scenery has been nowhere near this good. You look around and it’s like something out of a film. It’s nice to wake up to.”

Olomola added: “The facilities here are unbelievable. Some of the views we’ve seen here have been amazing. It’s been a real experience and I’ve enjoyed getting to know everybody more.

“This is one of the best I’ve been on and has been a real experience that I’ll probably never forget.”

Both players were on target during the 8-1 pre-season victory over Winterton a week-and-a-half ago, netting a brace each, and they’re confident of adding to those goals in the coming weeks.

Previewing Wednesday’s friendly against SV Seekirchen, which will be played on campus in Obertraun, Humphrys added: “I’m going to try and get on the scoresheet again, that’s my job. My finishing has been alright in training so I’ll try and bring that into the game.

“It’s positive competition (between him and Olomola). ‘Fela’ plays just behind me so I’m looking to set him up and he’s looking to set me up. It spurs us on to score more goals.”

Olomola continued: “It will just make us better. I get along with Stephen quite well and we’ll keep pushing each other to be the best we can be.”
