The Iron are delighted to have signed James Horsfield from NAC Breda on a free transfer.

A midfielder who can also play full-back, the 22-year-old signs on a two-year deal.

Horsfield’s been on trial with United during the past fortnight and is presently at an Austrian training camp with his new team-mates.

He played the first 45 minutes of the 8-1 pre-season friendly victory at Winterton Rangers on Saturday, July 7th.

Horsfield came through Manchester City’s youth system and experienced loan spells at Doncaster Rovers and Dutch top flight side NAC Breda before signing for the latter permanently in 2017.

The transfer is subject to international clearance.
