Martin Coy will be the man in the middle for the Iron's home league clash against Blackpool on Good Friday.

The official will travel to Glanford Park for his 34th game of the campaign and his 15th in Sky Bet League One.

His first game of the campaign was Grimsby Town's emphatic opening day home defeat against Forest Green Rovers in which he showed two cautions. His most recent appointment came on Saturday when he took charge of Oldham Athletic's home encounter against Swindon Town which ended 2-2. He showed just two yellow cards in the game.

He's taken charge of the Iron on four previous occasions, the most recent on Boxing Day when United hosted Luton Town. On that day, he showed just two yellow cards.

Meanwhile, he's refereed Blackpool on just five previous occasions with the last three encounters ending in draws. The latest encounter came in late-January in Blackpool's 2-2 home draw against Wycombe Wanderers in which he showed two yellow cards. Having taken charge of the Tangerines on home soil for all five encounters, this will be the first time he's taken charge of Blackpool on the road.

In 2017-18 - his debut campaign in the EFL - he took charge of 34 games, issuing 69 yellow cards and three reds. So far in this campaign, he has officiated in 33 encounters, showing 92 yellows and two reds.

On Friday, Coy will be assisted by Stephen Wade and Barry Gordon, while Graeme Fyvie has been appointed as the fourth official.
