Attacker Abo Eisa spoke of his delight about signing for United in an interview with iFollow Iron.

The 23-year-old pens a two-year deal, signing for an undisclosed fee from League Two side Shrewsbury Town, and teams up again with his former boss Paul Hurst.

The pacy winger said: “I’m delighted to be linking up again with the manager who signed me up at Shrewsbury. He’s the one who gave me my first professional contract and I really enjoyed my time working with him. I know the type of manager he is and how he wants to play, so that was a big reason for me joining.

“You want to play for a manager who gives you confidence as well, and I think I’ll do well under him. I just want to get going now.

“I like to score goals and assists, and create excitement – that’s what I want to bring to the team. We all know what the aim is. I want to do as well as I can and the club wants to do as well as it can.

“I feel ready, sharp and it’s just about getting out there now. I know Alex Gilliead and John McAtee from my time at Shrewsbury and I’ll get to know the other lads as well. You want to get settled as quickly as you can, and hopefully I’ll do that.”

He could make his first appearance for the club in Saturday’s home encounter against Crawley Town, and Eisa continued: “It’s nice to make your debut in front of the home fans. I want to show what I can do and hopefully I can help produce results and performances they’ll be happy with.”
