The County Durham-based official will travel to the Spotland for his third game of the campaign and his first in Sky Bet League Two. The current campaign is his fifth in the EFL as the man in the middle.
His first game of the campaign involved Bolton Wanderers and Milton Keynes Dons at the University of Bolton Stadium, which ended 3-3. Meanwhile, his latest encounter came in midweek in the Carabao Cup as he oversaw the Wigan Athletic penalty shootout victory over Hull City following a 1-1 scoreline.
He's taken charge of the Iron on seven previous occasions, the most recent back in January when the side were edged out 1-0 against Salford. No cards were issued. All seven of his previous matches involving Scunthorpe have come at the Sands Venue Stadium, so Saturday will be his first away from North Lincolnshire. In total, across the seven games, he's shown 11 yellow cards and one red.
Coy has also taken charge of Rochdale on seven occasions, with six of those coming at Spotland. The most recent was in March as he oversaw the 2-0 defeat to Shrewsbury Town. Across the seven games, he's issued 17 cautions and one red.
Last season, he took charge of 32 games, issuing 86 yellow cards and five reds. So far in this campaign, he has officiated in two encounters, showing one yellow and no reds.
On Saturday, Coy will be assisted by Grant Taylor and Johnathon Bickerdike, while Steven Rushton has been appointed as the fourth official.
