Ross Barrows recalled from King's Lynn Town loan spell

19 April 2024

Defender Ross Barrows has been recalled his loan spell with fellow Vanarama National League North side King's Lynn Town.

The nature of the extension of the loan held a 24-hour recall, which the Iron activated earlier this week.

The 25-year-old was one of the Iron's summer signings last summer, and he's made a total of 12 appearances for the club, six of which starts.

Born in Sheffield, Barrows was on the Iron’s books previously, spending six years in the academy between the ages of nine and 15. During his time away from the club, one of his clubs was the Linnets, where he joined towards the end of the 2018-19 season. He would become part of the team that would be promoted to the Vanarama National League North.

Playing for the side in the following season, he would make 58 appearances, scoring four goals, eventually moving on to Altrincham for the 2022-23 season.

While with the Linnets, he made seven appearances, six of which have been starts.

Barrows returned to the Iron to start the Lincolnshire Senior Cup Final win over Spalding United in midweek, scoring a goal and providing the assist for the winner.
