Scunthorpe United will host Chesterfield on Friday, August 2nd (7.30pm kick-off) in what will be the side's final game of pre-season before the Vanarama National League North campaign gets underway on Saturday, August 10th.

The match will take place at the Attis Arena, and will be the third and final of the three warm-up encounters on home soil.

The last encounters between the two sides came in the 2022-23 season over the festive and New Year period in the National League. The Spireites won the encounter at the Attis Arena on Boxing Day, with Caolan Lavery's Iron goal cancelled out by a brace by Joe Quigley. The reverse fixture on New Year's Day resulted in a 4-1 defeat, with Cameron Wilson's opening goal also cancelled out.

The meetings previous to that campaign came in 2016-17 when it was Scunthorpe who claimed a league double. The home match in April 2017 was a 3-1 win, with Ivan Toney netting a brace following an own goal. The away game at the Proact Stadium finished 3-0, with Josh Morris, Kevin van Veen and Sam Mantom scoring on the day.

Ticketing details will follow shortly.
