For the first time in two years work has commenced to resurface the hallowed turf of the Attis Arena in recent days ahead of the upcoming 2024-25 National League North season.

Following the off-field uncertainty that has surrounded the club in recent years, the pitch has certainly been made to stand the test of time, having seen two gruelling seasons and plenty of pitch hires the club is working in collaboration with Pitch Lincs in order to attend to the pitch and restore it to peak facility for next season.

Updates on the renovations can be seen on the official Pitch Lincs Facebook page where they are providing regular updates on the individual steps taken in the recipe to pitch success. Furthermore, additional work will be taking place on the Jason Threadgold Funeral Director training round as it prepares to house the pre-season preparations that are due to take place in the build-up to the next campaign.

The process began over the last week by taking off the top layer of the surface and initially stripping the pitch. Then work began to tidy around the pitch’s sprinkler heads and goal sockets at both ends of the stadium which seemed worse for wear prior to the work.

This was later followed by applying 60 tons of sand onto the surface via the use of a four-ton spreader. Finally, and towards the end of the week, the workers at Pitch Lincs worked tirelessly into the night, applying two types of seed to the turf and have done so in order to produce the best coverage and germination possible.

Most recently, to complete the process is "Verti Draining" deep time aeriation, which involves punching holes to help relieve the compaction, aiding the new root system to go as deep as possible.

As always, with the build-up to the 2024-25 campaign just around the corner, all systems are go to ensure a quality playing surface for the foreseeable future thanks to the help of Pitch Lincs.
