Samuel Barrott will be the man in the middle for the Iron's home league encounter against Port Vale on Saturday.

The West Riding-based official will travel to the Sands Venue Stadium for his 10th game of the season and his thirdh involvement in Sky Bet League Two. The current campaign is his second in the EFL as the man in the middle after being promoted to the National List at the end of the 2019-20 season.

His first game of the campaign was AFC Wimbledon's 2-1 away win at Doncaster Rovers in Sky Bet League Two, issuing three cautions, while his latest game was on September 14th as he took charge of the 1-1 draw between Lincoln City and Rotherham United at Sincil Bank. On the night, three yellow cards were shown.

Barrott has taken charge of two previous Iron fixture, with both coming last season, one of which in the Papa John's Trophy at home to Mansfield Town and the other away at Carlisle United in the league. Four yellow cards have been issued across those games, with all of them going to United, with Jai Rowe, Mason O'Malley and Ryan Loft all entering his notebook against Mansfield, with Loft's name taken for a second time at Brunton Park.

He's also taken charge of two Valiants games in the past, with the last back on Boxing Day last year. Three cautions were issued in their 2-0 home defeat to Barrow at Vale Park. 

Last season, he took charge of 32 games, issuing 86 yellow cards and fou reds, while so far this season, in nine games, he's shown 33 yellow cards and no reds.

On Saturday, he will be assisted by Joe Clark and Alan Clayton, while Martin Coy has been appointed as the fourth official.
