IRON TEAM NEWS

Speaking ahead of the game, Iron interim manager Michael Nelson said: “Pretty much everyone came out of the game (against Wrexham last week) fine, a couple of knocks and bumps but not too bad.

Andrew Boyce returned to training following illness which saw him withdraw from the squad to face Wrexham, with Marcus Carver too likely to be available for selection by Nelson.

Defender Reagan Ogle is to be assessed ahead of the Boxing Day game.

Liam Feeney and Kgosi Nthle (hamstrings) continue to miss out through their respective injuries.

THE OPPOSITION

The Spireites were knocked out of the Isuzu FA Trophy last week losing 3-1 to Pitching In Southern Central Premier League side Coalville Town, who famously knocked out Notts County in the Emirates FA Cup too.

The side from Derbyshire currently sit in 3rd position, with Paul Cook’s side registering 13 wins from 21 games so far this season.

Cook joined up with the Spireites this February following the suspension and subsequent departure of previous manager James Rowe.

Clinching a play-off spot by a point, Cook’s side edged a 2-1 victory away at FC Halifax Town’s The Shay before succumbing to a 3-1 defeat away at Solihull Moors in the semi-final.

THE OFFICIALS

The referee will be Scott Simpson, assisted by Alan Hull and Danny Jarvis. The fourth official will be Samuel Clayton.

Simpson has overseen six National League fixtures this season, none of which featured the Iron, brandishing 17 yellow cards and a singular red.

MATCHDAY DETAILS

The ticket office and club shop open from 11am on the day, with the Iron Bar opening shortly after around 11.30am.

The car park will open at midday, where a £1 saving can be made (before 9am on matchday) by purchasing your spot in advance here.

Please note there will be no Boxing Day buses in operation by Stagecoach in Scunthorpe on matchday, and with an increased away following, the car park could become busier than usual.r

We welcome back familiar vendor Phat Pateez Grill, who will be selling a range of hot-food outside the ground.

Additionally, turnstiles are also open an hour-and-a-half before kick-off for fans wishing to enter the stadium.

NATIONAL LEAGUE TV

The Vanarama National League were delighted to announce a two-week trial phase of its new streaming service National League TV earlier in the month.

With the platform officially completing the ‘beta’ phase, matchday passes have now increased in price moving forward.

Fans can subscribe here and start streaming National Division matches now, including the Iron’s clash against Chesterfield this Boxing Day.

To help the Iron profit, you need to nominate 'Scunthorpe United' as your club in the sign-up process.

This game is available to stream both domestically and internationally for this fixture, with BBC Radio Humberside commentary set to be provided.
