Scunthorpe United is delighted to have completed the signing of Tranmere Rovers midfielder Liam Feeney on a permanent basis.

The transfer is subject to EFL and FA ratification.

The 35-year-old has made around 600 appearances, scoring almost 50 goals, and started his early career at Hayes and then Salisbury City before a loan move to Southend United in the EFL, and then a two-year spell at Bournemouth where he played more than 100 times between 2009 and 2011, with them rising from League Two to League One.

A three-year stint in the Championship at Millwall followed, during which there were also loan stays at Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers.

He spent two seasons at the former of those clubs permanently, during which there was also a loan spell at Ipswich Town before he re-joined Blackburn permanently. He also went out on loan to Cardiff City while at Ewood Park.

From there, he went on Blackpool in 2018 and spent three seasons at Bloomfield Road before signing for Tranmere on loan last season, where he played under Iron boss Keith Hill as they made the League Two play-offs and Papa John's Trophy Final.

He then signed permanently at Prenton Park in the summer and has made 23 appearances so far this season.
