Marc Edwards will referee the Iron's away league encounter against Port Vale on Saturday.

In what is Edwards' third EFL campaign as a referee, the Tyne and Wear-based official will travel to Vale Park for his 17th game of the season following his promotion to the National List of Referees ahead of the 2019-20 season.

He has experience in the EFL prior to this season though, first starting as an assistant referee before opting to drop back down to the National League with the whistle, where he remained for two years before being promoted back.

He's refereed three previous Iron matches, with the 0-0 away draw at Bradford City in May last year being the most recent.

Last season, he showed 100 yellow cards and one red in 32 games, while this term he's refereed 16 matches and shown 56 yellows and one red.

On Saturday, Marc will be assisted by Gary Hilton and Darren Wilding, while Trevor Kettle will assume the role of fourth official.
