Peter Wright will be the man in the middle for the Iron's away game at Salford City on Saturday.

The Merseyside-based official will travel to the Peninsula Stadium for his 29th game of the season and 11th in Sky Bet League Two. 2021-22 is his fourth year in the EFL after being promoted to the National List of Referees in the summer of 2018.

He began his referee journey in the Southport-based Craven Minor Football League before spending time in the referee academy programme run by Liverpool County FA at both Everton and Liverpool Football Clubs, alongside a spell with Durham County FA whilst completing his studies at university in the north east.

He has refereed the Iron on a total of six occasions, showing a total of 14 yellows and no reds in the five games in total, with the 2-1 home win over Crawley Town his last game involving us back in October.

Last year, he officiated in 32 encounters, showing 92 yellows and three reds. So far this season, he has shown 88 yellow cards and three reds in 28 matches.

On Saturday, Wright will be assisted by Helen Edwards and Richard Woodward, while Martin Woods is the fourth official.
