IRON TEAM NEWS

Manager Jimmy Dean revealed striker Marcus Carver, who had suffered with a groin problem, has had a few weeks on the training pitch now and could be in contention for the game.

Cameron Wilson, Dion Sembie-Ferris and Richie Bennett all came off for the Iron last Saturday through knocks, with Dean revealing both Wilson and Sembie-Ferris trained recently whilst Bennett remains a doubt for Good Friday.

Alfie Beestin (hamstring) and Aaron Chapman remain out through their respective injuries, although are back on the training pitch on an individual basis.

THE OPPOSITION

The Heed are into the Isuzu FA Trophy final following last weekend’s 3-3 draw, which resulted in victory via penalties for Gateshead, against high-flying Barnet.

Gateshead’s second-ever Wembley Stadium appearance will be met by opposition who too find themselves towards the rear end of the Vanarama National League table in the form of FC Halifax Town, with the final set to take place in May.

The Tyne and Wear-based side currently sit in 19th place, with the Tynesiders possessing a few games in hand still to play on the teams around them.

Registering 10 wins and 14 draws from 38 games, the six league victories picked up so far this calendar year have helped create distance between themselves and the relegation zones.
