The Iron’s third summer signing discussed his immediate aims for the upcoming season in claret and blue, and talks about his past experiences in the Vanarama National League North that he hopes to build upon under the guidance of Andy Butler.

Firstly, Brogan began by providing his reaction to joining the club by saying: “I’m really happy and really delighted to get the deal done and I’m looking forward to getting going because it’s a great club here, with great fans.”

When giving an insight into what he can bring to Andy Butler’s Iron squad, Brogan stated: “I’m a central midfielder, who goes box-to-box, and looks to get on the ball whilst bringing lots of energy to the team. Also, I’d like to chip in here and there with a few goals.”

Having spent last season on loan at fellow National League North side Buxton, Brogan commented on what he’d learnt from his time in the league previously: “It’s a tough league for sure, but I definitely think that we’ve got more than enough to get it over the line this year.

“I think it’s good when you keep the main core group of players in and add a few more where the squad needs improving, and I think hopefully this squad will go one step further this year.”

Prior to putting pen to paper, Brogan had spoken in length with first team manager Andy Butler and had this to say on his conversations with the gaffer: “I had a really good chat with him. We discussed how he sees me fitting into the team and how he aims to play, he also made it clear the goal was promotion and that we really want to push for that this year.

“I played here for Solihull (in the FA Trophy) last season, and it was a great game and the fans were brilliant, especially behind the goal which is something I think is really good about this club.”

In terms of his ambitions for the season ahead, Brogan spoke on his targets by saying: “I want to help the club and the team as much as possible and to help get us out of this league and to get us promoted, along with my personal targets of playing as many games as I can.”
