Scunthorpe United is pleased to announce the appointment of Callum McGrady as the club's new First Team Grounds Manager at the Attis Arena.
McGrady began his career in professional football with then-League Two side Barrow, where he spent three years developing his expertise in pitch maintenance and grounds management. He then moved to Fleetwood Town, playing a key role in maintaining the club's newly refurbished playing surface during a nine-month spell with the Cod Army.
His impressive work earned him a move to Championship outfit Preston North End, where he spent 18 months, including the entirety of the 2022-23 campaign, working on the club's highly regarded playing surface. Seeking a more senior position, McGrady subsequently joined Chorley as Head Groundsman before a spell at Morecambe, where his expertise proved invaluable in revitalising the club's struggling pitch.
Following his time at Morecambe, McGrady took his career overseas, joining Danish giants FC Copenhagen as Assistant Groundsman. During a two-year stay with the club, he gained valuable experience working at one of Scandinavia's leading football institutions.
Upon returning to England, McGrady undertook a brief interim role as Head Groundsman at Radcliffe before making the move to Scunthorpe United. He now arrives at the Attis Arena to oversee operations on the club's newly refurbished playing surface and lead the next chapter of pitch development at the home of the Iron.
Welcome to the Iron, Callum!
