Scunthorpe United is delighted to confirm that defender Ross Barrows has agreed terms to remain with the club for the 2026-27 season.
The versatile defender, who came through the club's academy as a youngster before returning to the Iron in 2023, has become a popular figure both on and off the pitch during his time at the Attis Arena and signs a new one-year deal with the Iron.
After showing tremendous determination to overcome a long-term injury setback in 2025 which kept him sidelined for 51 weeks, Barrows returned to first-team action at Christmas and once again demonstrated the commitment, professionalism and quality that have made him an important member of Andy Butler's squad.
Since rejoining his boyhood club, the 28-year-old has made a significant contribution in claret and blue, providing versatility across the back line and bringing valuable experience to the dressing room.
So far, across three seasons with the club, he’s made a total of 67 appearances in claret and blue, scoring three goals. Having returned to fitness midway through last season, he looks to hit the ground running for a complete campaign in 2026-27.
Speaking following the renewal, he said: "I'm delighted to be signing for my fourth season at this massive football club. I've loved my time at the club so far and I'm grateful for the continued trust and support from everyone involved.
"I'm as motivated as ever to help drive this club forward. Let's have a great season together."
