Scunthorpe United Head of Partnerships Glyn Sparks will take on the Lincoln Half Marathon on Sunday in support of Lindsey Lodge Hospice, the Iron’s official charity partner.
Scunthorpe United Head of Partnerships Glyn Sparks will take on the Lincoln Half Marathon on Sunday in support of Lindsey Lodge Hospice, the Iron’s official charity partner.
Glyn will line up for the 2026 Lincoln Half Marathon on Sunday, October 4, with his efforts helping to raise vital funds for Lindsey Lodge and the specialist care and support it provides to local people and their families living with life-limiting illnesses.
The fundraising run comes just days after Scunthorpe United officially announced Lindsey Lodge Hospice as its chosen external charity through to the end of the 2027-28 season, with the two organisations committed to working together to raise awareness, generate funds and make a positive difference across the local community.
For Glyn, the partnership with Lindsey Lodge is particularly meaningful, having supported the hospice through a number of fundraising challenges over the years.
The Head of Partnerships has previously taken part in Lindsey Lodge’s Jog on January challenge, while earlier this year he joined fellow members of the Iron’s staff for the Peak District Challenge in support of the hospice.
Now, he is swapping the trails for the streets of Lincoln as he tackles the 13.1-mile course.
Lindsey Lodge Hospice provides specialist care for people in North Lincolnshire living with life-limiting conditions, with its services provided free of charge to patients and their families thanks to the generosity of supporters and fundraisers.
Glyn’s fundraising page is now live, with supporters able to make a donation and help him reach his target.
