Scunthorpe United is delighted to announce that Hull City loanee Stan Ashbee has extended his stay with the Iron until January.
A product of Hull City’s academy system, Ashbee has risen through the ranks at the MKM Stadium and has been involved with the first team on several occasions. He signed his first professional contract in December 2023 before making his senior debut just a month later, starting in the Emirates FA Cup Third Round Replay away at Birmingham City as a 17-year-old.
The defender was named Hull City’s Frank Donoghue Academy Player of the Year for both the 2022-23 and 2023/-24 seasons and has long been a regular for the Tigers’ U21 side. Ashbee has also represented the Republic of Ireland at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 level, helping the U17's qualify for the 2023 UEFA European Under-17 Championship in Hungary.
A bright spark since arriving at the Attis Arena last month, Ashbee has already featured 7 times in Claret and Blue this season, with commanding performances at the heart of the Scunthorpe defence, making it an easy decision for United to try to secure his services for longer.
Keep up the good work, Stan!
