Forward Danny Whitehall joins Hednesford Town for an undisclosed fee

Scunthorpe United can confirm the departure of forward Danny Whitehall, who joins National League North side Hednesford Town for an undisclosed fee.

Originally joining the Iron in the summer of 2023, ahead of Scunthorpe's first National League North campaign, Whitehall quickly became an instant fan favourite with the United faithful, living up to his reputation as a renowned master of the dark arts on the pitch, while ensuring no goalkeeper's water bottle was ever safe.

Whitehall marked his debut in memorable fashion, coming off the bench to score a tremendous acrobatic winner away at Tamworth. His goalscoring form would continue throughout the campaign, with the forward netting 21 times in his first season in Claret and Blue as United narrowly missed out on promotion via the play-offs.

Entering his second season at the Attis Arena with newly appointed manager Andy Butler at the helm, Whitehall enjoyed another prolific campaign in the National League North, playing a crucial role in Scunthorpe's promotion with 17 league goals in just 32 appearances. After shaking off a knee injury late in the season, he returned in time for the play-off campaign, scoring three goals, including the opener in the promotion final against Chester.

Upon signing a new two-year deal with the Iron in the summer of 2025, Whitehall continued his fine goalscoring form into the Enterprise National League, scoring 16 times for Butler's side as they marked their return to the level with an impressive fifth-place finish.

During the campaign, Whitehall surpassed the 50-goal mark for the club, climbing the all-time goalscoring charts and cementing himself as the eighth-highest scorer in Scunthorpe United's history, with a remarkable return in just over 130 appearances.
