Lindsey Lodge Hospice announced as club's chosen charity

Scunthorpe United Football Club is delighted to announce Lindsey Lodge Hospice as its chosen external charity through to the end of the 2027-28 season, commencing a 21-month partnership between the club and the North Lincolnshire hospice.

The partnership will see Scunthorpe United and Lindsey Lodge work closely together throughout the remainder of the 2026-27 campaign and across the entirety of the 2027-28 season, with both organisations committed to making a positive difference within the local community.

Lindsey Lodge Hospice provides specialist care and support to local people living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families and loved ones. Its work touches the lives of countless people across North Lincolnshire and the surrounding areas, making the partnership particularly meaningful to the Iron.

With close ties between Lindsey Lodge and staff members within the football club, this is a partnership that is already close to the hearts of many at Scunthorpe United.

Over the course of the partnership, the club will look to enhance fundraising for Lindsey Lodge while introducing a range of collaborative measures and initiatives designed to maximise the impact of the relationship.

Scunthorpe United and Lindsey Lodge will work together to identify new fundraising opportunities, community activities and initiatives that can engage supporters, staff, players and the wider North Lincolnshire community.

The club will also use its platform and reach to help raise awareness of the incredible work carried out by Lindsey Lodge, while encouraging supporters to get behind the hospice and its fundraising efforts wherever possible.

Scunthorpe United General Manager James Moody said: "We are absolutely delighted to announce Lindsey Lodge Hospice as our chosen charity through to the end of the 2027-28 season.

"This is a partnership that means a great deal to everyone connected with the football club. There are already strong personal links between Lindsey Lodge and members of our staff, and that makes this a particularly special relationship for us. On a personal level, nothing I do can ever be enough to repay the compassionate care Lindsey Lodge provided to my Nan in her final hours, and for the support they’d shown to her in the 19 years since my Grandad’s passing, his care during the final months of his life, and my Nan’s subsequent cancer diagnosis.

"Lindsey Lodge does an incredible job supporting people and families across our local community, and we are proud to be able to use the reach of Scunthorpe United to help shine a light on that work.

"Over the next 21 months, we want to go beyond simply raising money. We want to build a genuine collaborative partnership, working closely with Lindsey Lodge to introduce new initiatives, enhance fundraising opportunities and find different ways in which the football club can support the hospice.

"We want our players, staff and supporters to feel part of that journey, and we hope this partnership can make a real and lasting difference to the fantastic work Lindsey Lodge carries out across our community. The partnership will see the club and hospice explore a range of joint initiatives throughout the 21-month period, with further details of fundraising events, matchday activities and opportunities for supporters to get involved to be announced in due course. Our initiatives kick-off with a bucket collection at tomorrow’s Enterprise National League game against Hartlepool United, with the players wearing special warm-up t-shirts provided to the charity by TKR, with the shirts set to be signed and auctioned off afterwards, with proceeds going to Lindsey Lodge Hospice.
