Goalkeeping Coach
Paul Musselwhite's return to Scunthorpe United in the summer of 2013 marked his third spell with the club. The former goalkeeper began his professional career with Portsmouth before first joining the Iron in 1988. Over the next four years, he made 132 appearances before moving on to Port Vale, where he would spend eight successful seasons and make more than 300 appearances. Following spells with Hull City and several other clubs, Musselwhite returned to Glanford Park in 2004 and played a key role in the Iron's League Two promotion-winning campaign of 2004-05. After two further seasons with the club, he departed for a second time in the summer of 2006. His playing career continued in non-league football before he moved into coaching, taking up a goalkeeping coach role at Lincoln City. He later joined York City as player-goalkeeping coach and famously kept a clean sheet on his debut in a 1-0 victory over Cambridge United at the age of 43. After a brief spell as goalkeeping coach at Bury, Musselwhite returned to Scunthorpe United in June 2013 to take charge of the club's goalkeepers. Since then, he has become the longest-serving member of the football staff, working under a number of managers and playing an important role in the development of goalkeepers across the club. His experience, loyalty and knowledge of Scunthorpe United have made him a highly respected figure both within the dressing room and throughout the wider football club.
