The 32-year-old joins the Sandgrounders on an initial three-month loan spell, with the nature of the loan holding a 28-day recall option in the Iron's favour.
Bennett joined the club in March last season and went on to make eight starts, scoring one goal in the 2-0 home win over Altrincham last season and returned to the club at the start of September, making three appearances.
He did make a further appearance, and scored, against Buxton, but the game was expunged following its abandonement.
