Scunthorpe United is delighted to announce that left-back Tyler Denton has agreed a deal to extend his stay at the Attis Arena for a further season, following his impressive debut campaign in claret and blue.

The nature of the deal also holds a further option of a year in the club's favour.

Denton joined the Iron in the summer of 2023, and was immediately inducted into Jimmy Dean’s starting XI and became a mainstay in the left-back position throughout the season. Despite harbouring an injury for the second half of the season Denton certainly battled through the pain in order to see out the campaign.

The 28-year-old comes with a vast array of experience after coming through the ranks at Yorkshire side Leeds United and even made three appearances on the Elland Road turf. He joined United after leaving King's Lynn Town last summer, where he was a fan favourite and narrowly missed out on promotion through the play-offs.

Last season, Denton made 44 appearances for the club and his valiant performances coupled with his three goals and countless assists earned him a place in the Vanarama National League North team of the season, a place he will certainly be setting his sights on retaining this upcoming season.
